The very beginning


First day at CAI

The first step towards my dreams was 5 months ago. On 3rd October 2016 was the first day of my education in the Hospitality and Culinary Arts programme at the Culinary Arts Institute. I spent four months hard working, but I can definitely say that I acquired a lot of knowledge and useful skills. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to learn from great professionals in the field of culinary arts and they really well know how to successfully pass their knowledge to the students. They taught us how to learn from our mistakes and how to perform better every single day. During the first semester CAI offered us a lot of challenges and great opportunities.

The education started with the basic skills like cutting and then continued with different cooking techniques. We studied about stocks, sauces, preparation of different types of meat and fish, desserts. We also had few special classes during the semester – pizza class, bread class and chocolate class. All of them gave us deeper knowledge about the particular products and were very useful for the students. I most enjoyed the one week pastry course in which I learned more about the basic French pastries and the proper way of making them. After two months of rest, the next part of this nice experience starts on 10th April and will be a six month internship in restaurant Meo Modo by Andrea Mattei in Italy.
