Having a gourmet lunch

Before leaving the magnificent place of our internship, all the Bulgarian trainees recieved a special gift. After six months of many efforts and hard working, the executive chef was satisfied with our job, so we were given the chance to have a lunch in Meo Modo by Andrea Mattei. Until this day we had always been in the kitchen, preparing the gourmet dishes, but then we had to be from the othed side of the experience. We all were very excited and expexted this moment impatiently. Everything started with having an aperitive, sitting in the splendid garden in front of the restaurant and having a look of the endless Tuscan fields which surround Borgo Santo Pietro. Feeling the warm Tuscan sun and having a glass of sparkling wine I felt incredibly relaxed. In the outside part of the restaurant we enjoyed a six course menu and we had the opportunity to try three of the new dishes that still hadn't been included in the menu. The amazing taste of each dish combined with a properly chosen wine created such an incredible pleasure for the senses. In addition the luxurious design in a combination with the great service create an atmosphere that makes you feel very special. From the way that the napkins are being put over the legs before starting the lunch to the presenting of each wine, the staff pays attention to every single detail. Then I understood that the experience in a gourmet restaurant is one incredible unity of the efforts of many people - from trainees and chefs in the kitchen to the waiters and someliers. To sum up, this is one unforgettable moment for me and was a perfect end of these six months spent in Meo Modo by Andrea Mattei.
