Wedding time

Weddings are one of the most emotional moments in the life. In the past month in the restaurant where I work there were two of this special events. I am happy that I had the opportunity to be part of the team that made them one idea better thanks to the delicious dishes we made. When there is a wedding in the hotel, the restaurant is closed for clients the day of the event and the day before. So for us this time is a bit easier because we don't have to prepare mise en place for service and put all our efforts into the preparation for the wedding.

In the main kitchen everything for the official dinner is made right before the service. The menu for the two weddings was the same. The first thing that was prepared was the aperitiv - small bites called canapés. The next courses were spelt salad with cooked and raw vegetables , risotto with scampi and capers, roasted seabass with courgettes and black olives and roasted beef tenderloin with potatoes and black truffle.

For the second wedding we also had to prepare prepare a dessert - semifreddo with pistachio ice cream. In the pastry we had additional preparation before the day of the event. We made also the small pastries - lavander bon bons, strawberry petit fours, chocolate truffles. And of course the wedding cake... for the two weddings they were vintage styled cakes. They were with very delicious filling - lemon cream and berries. I really liked this experience and I am looking forward for the next event.
