The farmers' market

Every Monday since I have been working in Meo Modo by Andrea Mattei we organise an event called Farmers' market. It is held in the other restaurant in the complex - the Trattoria. This event gives the guest of the hotel the opportunity to try another type of food except the gout dishes in the Michelin starred restaurant. It offers them traditional Tuscan dishes, prepared prepared only with local products, as well as typical for Italy food. The event attracts not only the guests of the otel, but also people from the whole region. Usually we start the preparation for it from Thursday. This includes baking the bases for tarts, cakes and tartalettes, making different creams and fillings, etc. 

One of the typical pastries for the Farmers' market and one of my favourite things to prepare is the crostata with pastry cream and fresh fruits from the gardens of Borgo. We also bake few types of cakes and tartalettes with different fillings and many other delicious sweet things. I am sure that they are the best end of the food experience of every person on the event.
